Combat is an important aspect of Kantai Collection. Players can send their ship girls on sorties to fight the Abyssal Fleet and claim prizes for victories. With the exception of a few decision points, combat in Kantai Collection is randomized and fully automated. While victory can sometimes depend largely on the whim of RNG, players can take preemptive actions to influence the outcome of battles via proper equipment load out and fleet set up.
