Iva Zanicchi is an Italian singer, television presenter and politician. She started her career in 1962 when she finished in third place at the Castrocaro Music Festival and five years later in 1967 won the San Remo Festival, which she won twice more in 1969 and 1974. She represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 1969 in Madrid with the song Due grosse lacrime bianche, finishing in 13th place. Today she is a politician for the Forza Italia party, and was a member of the European Parliament from 2004 till 2014.
