A frem is a brush-like device specifically designed and used to clean and polish Telian fangs. It is customary for Telians to use the frem following a meal, especially in social settings, as it is considered extremely impolite to show bloodied fangs to a host or guest. The use of a frem can be traced back almost a thousand years and is the primary reason that fang-la is now a rare condition amongst Telians.
