Samuel Webster, M.D. (usually called "Doc" Webster) is a patron at Callahan's Place, Mary's Place, and The Place. Before retiring to Key West he was a doctor at Smithtown General. Doc is credited as the patron who originally introduced Jake Stonebender (narrator of the Callahan's stories) to the bar after Jake had accidentally caused the death of his own family (or so he believed). Doc Webster is generally held to be the top punster at Callahan's. He dies of a brain tumor in Key West.
