The UNSC Defense Council was an executive UNSC governmental committee that presided over and oversaw all major military decisions made by UNSC High Command. It consisted of five Senators, of which one was appointed the Chairperson of the Defense Council and moderated its conduct. The Defense Council was responsible with frequently meeting the Joint Chiefs of Staff to discuss the operations of Central Command and to either approve or disapprove of its actions. It was established several months after the end of the Human-Covenant War.
