First commissioned in 2015, the class is designed with gas-turbine propulsion, all-digital weapons systems, and automated 5-inch guns. The Maaß class is designed to escort capital ships with a primary AAW mission. The Maaß design is modular in nature, allowing for easy installation of entire subsystems within the ship.
