Harvey Leach was the original owner of the diner that became Statler's Cafe. Ralph Statler bought the diner from Leach in 1979. Tracy Venable went to visit Leach at an old folks home to ask him about Emma Spool. Leach had hired Spool as a waitress many years ago after she was released from an institution for murdering Mr. Bates.
