The henohenomoheji (へのへのもへじ henohenomoheji?) is a sight gag that appears in both series, but especially in the manga on characters' faces, especially Ranma Saotome's. A popular graffiti doodle in Japan using hiragana characters, henohenomoheji does not translate to anything, but can be used to depict the face of a scarecrow.
