The Freeze Ray was a device invented by Dr. Horrible to stop the movement of time on a particular object. It is not a Death Ray or an Ice Beam. Although it was merely mentioned theoretically by Dr. Horrible in his first seen blog, "Stop(s) time- Tell your friends," it is seen as a full-functioning weapon propped on a single leg and sends out a current of energy for freezing a single subject, Captain Hammer, for a limited amount of time, though it suddenly and inopportunely malfunctions, unfreezing him.
