Galar Baras was a Tiste and soldier in the Hust Legion and could not stomach alcohol. He received his Hust sword from Calat Hustain, son of Hust Henarald, husband to Toras Redone. He was sent to Kharkanas as a liason of the Hust Legion by Toras Redone after bedding her. He was unliked in the Citadel.
