Prior to that Don managed a number of large organizations, including Stanford’s Department of Medicine, San Mateo County’s Emergency Medical System, and ICAH, an internationally recognized organization that pioneered approaches to overcoming catastrophic life events. In the course of his career, Don has worked in some of most stressful places on the planet: including AIDS and cancer wards, in grief groups with parents who’ve lost children, at San Quentin prison with men serving life sentences, in Bosnian refugee camps during that genocidal war, and in highly stressful corporate settings.
