Aunt was the name given to secondary Cilwellian wives. These were women married by Cilwelli men. Aunts were married because a man's first wife was an able to produce children. Aunts had no rights, according to Cilwellian law. In the Republic of Cilwelli, they were not allowed to vote. Aunts were essentially slaves to the original wife and they were not allowed to have a personal relationship with their husband. Any children that they birthed were raised by the husband's first wife and were considered hers.
