The 1999 TranSouth Financial 400 was a Winston Cup (now Nextel Cup) event held at Darlington Speedway on March 21, 1999. Jeff Burton was leading when the rain began, causing a multi-car crash in which Burton was involved. Burton still managed to cross the line despite heavy damage, and after a hilarious rain dance was declared the winner over Jeremy Mayfield.
