The Second Hutt War was a conflict, part of the Great Hutt Wars, between the Galactic Republic and the Hutt Empire beginning in 12,973 BBY. The Jedi Order and the Bogan Empire were also involved. It was the second of two wars between the two governments, the First Hutt War having been waged from 12,979 BBY to the end of 12,978 BBY. The Second Hutt War followed years of civil discord within the Republic and the Hutt Empire, as well as a two year Cold War in which their respective military forces strengthened their numbers in preparation for a war.
