The United Earth Police (or UEP) was the law enforcement and investigative agency for the United Earth government. During the mid 2370s, it was headed by Brett Ryan. The UEP had the jurisdiction to investigate suspicious civilian deaths occurring on Earth; however, Starfleet insisted on taking over the investigation of the death of Jennifer Almieri, after she had been found dead in her home in Washington, DC, over the protests of Ryan.
