Mosuma Daoub is Javid's sister, who claimed that NCIS Medical Examiner Dr. Donald Mallard was responsible for her brother's death. When she was eight years old, she and her brother Javid left Afganistan to flee the Soviet invasion. They ended up in a refugee camp at the Afghan-Pakistan border in the summer of 1980. Javid was taken by the CIA and was tortured for information about the war, something he knew nothing about. Mosuma was helpless as her brother became increasingly mutilated by the CIA operative nicknamed "Mr. Pain." Dr. Mallard, a British volunteer doctor in the camp, patched up Javid along with other patients who were interrogated.
