Hirstaang Forest is a region which covers almost the entire southern half of Solstheim. Late in the Third Era it was the only region with Imperial presence on island. Early in the Fourth Era the entire forest was leveled by the eruption of the Red Mountain. By 4E 201 all that remained were tree stumps sunk into the ashy ground.
