An Avatar is a customizable avatar created by Rare Ltd that can represent a player or another character in some Xbox 360 games and online features. Avatars represent users of the Xbox Live service on its consoles (Xbox 360 and the Xbox One) and also on Windows Phone and Windows 8. In the Sonic the Hedgehog series, some games allow a person's Avatar to participate in the game, instead of the default playable characters.
