Aloran IV is a class M world located near the Badlands, and was home to a Federation colony. By 2374, the colony had been abandoned due to border hostilities in advance of the Dominion War. The parents of Patrick and Anna Ingrum were killed in a Jem'Hadar attack. After the attack, Patrick went to Aloran IV to evacuate his family's personal belongings. While preparing to leave the planet, he discovered Bernie Tyler and his girlfriend Roslyn had crashed on the surface of the planet. He also discovered the USS Baldwin cloaked in orbit. Patrick would become captain of the Baldwin, and Bernie and Roslyn would become part of his crew. (USS Baldwin: "The Find")
