Gul Pirak was a Cardassian military officer who commanded a weapons depot outside the city of Hathon on Bajor. He committed many acts of brutality, including the execution of 15 farmers for not displaying a Cardassian banner. These executions made Pirak a target for assassination by the Shakaar Resistance Cell. Trentin Fala told the resistance how to bypass security systems, Latha Mabrin built the plasma charges, and Kira Nerys planted the bomb with Furel and Lupaza stood guard. The resulting explosion killed twelve Cardassians, including Pirak’s family, and wounded twenty-three others.
