NGC 2812 was a galaxy which is visible from Earth in the Cancer constellation. In 2374, this astronomical object was shown on a star chart of sector 441 showing objects visible in and around the Briar Patch. (Star Trek: Insurrection) This object was not mentioned in the film, but its name appeared on a computer display okudagram, which can be seen clearly reproduced in The Secrets of Star Trek: Insurrection, by Terry J. Erdmann.
