Zedd was born a mutant with a third eye on his forehead. Because of this, he was abandoned shortly after he was born. His life after that was even worse. He spent his entire young life on the streets struggling to survive. Because he never learned his last name, he adopted the name of his idol Anakin Skywalker as a way to both honor him and to hopefully make people overlook his mutation.
