The sleg corgan was a type of large animal lifeform native to the planet Cardassia. In certain seasons, the sleg corgan spend long periods of time almost completely motionless. As a child Elim Garak was given the nickname "sleg" in reference to the slowness of this species. (DS9 novel: A Stitch in Time)
