The United States of "America" was a nation on the continent of Vinland (formerly North America). In 2020, many nations, realising the error at calling people from the United States, "Americans", went on to change the terminology and instead refer to the citizens as United-Statesian or some variant thereof (for example, Estadounidense in Spanish). The reason for this change is because the United States never covered all of the Americas, let alone North America, and also has been a subject of criticism of citizens in other nations within the Americas.
