Major General Muhammad Afzal (R) Chaudhry was born in 1929; in a famous village Sabowal near Gujrat. He served as the Major General of Pakistani Armed Forces from 1986 - 1989 in the E&ME core (Engineering and Mechanical). He was the in-charge of Heavy Industries Taxila and Pakistan Ordnance Factories at WAH. His greatest achievement at national level is to set the foundation of first PAKISTANI MADE TANK Al-Khalid tank. He was the first General of E & ME core of Pakistan Army from the soil of Gujrat.
