The Referee officiated at a bad-tempered schoolboy's game in February 2016 when Simon Barlow and an ex-mate Kyle were on opposing teams. Kyle's Dad was on the touchline and was the most aggressive person there, barking instructions at his son and the other players and accusing the referee of not doing his job properly. His constant goading reached such a state that the referee threatened to have him thrown out of the sport's hall. The match came to an end when Simon performed a bad, though legal, tackle on Kyle and broke the young lad's leg.
