Real Vulcanodon were relatively small sauropods found in Zimbabwe, Africa, reaching a length of 6.5 metres. When this dinosaur was first discovered, it was thought to be an omnivorous prosauropod (like Plateosaurus or Ammosaurus) due to the discovery of what turned out to be the teeth of an unknown meat-eating dinosaur. The first fossils of Vulcanodon were found between volcanic flows, giving it its name, "volcano tooth".
