The Burdette Steadholder's Guard was a police force of Burdette Steading, particularly responsible for the protection of the ruling Steadholder Burdette and his family. Edward Martin served as a sergeant in the Burdette Guard until a broken leg that did not heal properly forced him out of the service. (HH5)
