Normally, paying five Counter Blast means you cannot use any other abilities that need to Counter Blast during the game. However, there are methods that can help you Counter Charge, therefore giving you the chance to use Mega Blast in a deck that utilises Counter Blasts. With some luck, a heal trigger can help recover damage for you to use. All cards so far with a "Mega Blast" cost follow a certain pattern, namely; Some cards such as Stil Vampir don't have a clan restriction, therefore they can be included in decks that are using Extreme Fight rules.
