In 2366, the Courageous was commanded by Captain Lavelle, and was dispatched ongside USS Hood to Errev to provide escort for the USS Enterprise. Courageous was the first vessel to hail Enterprise, with Captain LaVelle expressing outrage at Jean-Luc Picard being implicated in ordering the destruction of USS Nairobi. (TNG comic: "The Pay Off!")
