Task Force Gemstone was one of five task forces of the New Republic Defense Fleet's Third Battle Group. In 16 ABY, Bellbright as led by Commodore Poqua. During the Black Fleet Crisis, Gemstone was placed under the temporary command of the Fifth Battle Group, paired with Task Force Copperleaf to form a combined task force under Commodore Mirx. It served in General Etahn A'baht's plan that culminated in Operation Strong Hand.
