Eliar is irritated if spoken to, and refuses to sell any of his mules. In the middle of the conversation, he acts as though he saw something going on in a nearby bush, but then laughs, and mockingly asks "And did you know 'Gullible' is a type of sea-bird?" With the return of the Maljin, Eliar says that he "knew there was something crooked" about the adventurers who were collecting the townstones when he first laid eyes upon them.
