Darsolenew Du'Manté was born around 30 years before the Orcish invasion of Azeroth and the first war to a large family of the Gilnean aristocracy. He spent much of his youth with his parents on their estates in the south of the country, which overlooked Baradin Bay from their position on the grey cliffs of Gilneas. When he came of age, marked in Gilnean society on the 19th summer of the son, his father, Baron Theodite Du’Mánte, saw fit to dispatch him to receive an education in Dalaran, for it was customary for the Gilnean nobility to afford such sumptuous privileges to their offspring.
