A Colonial Defense Array (CDA) is a security network designed by the Systems Alliance that acts as a defensive network for a colony. The defens array consists of small orbital stations that fire energy beams, stationary GARDIAN turrets, and several VI hubs which control and maintain the array's algorithms. The CDA was developed to supercede the original GARDIAN defense systems implemented by Terminus colonies in the 2180s.
