Brian Talbot was approached by General Ryker sometime after his brother Glenn was killed in action while he was pursuing the Hulk. Brian Talbot agreed to undergo experimental procedures in order to get his revenge on the Hulk. By using the blood of the Hulk and some of the DNA of the Leader to prevent uncontrollable rage, they injected it ino Talbot's his body, which mutated him into a a giant grey powerhouse under the codename known as Grey. He became the field leader of Ryker’s group, the Gamma Corps, and Talbot was a model soldier.
