Charles I of the United Kingdom (19 November 1600-30 January 1649) was King of the United Kingdom from 27 March 1625 until his execution. King Charles engaged in a struggle of power with Oliver Cromwell and Parilament. Charles supported the Divine Rights of Kings, a theory claiming that the King listened only to God. He rose taxes and did many actions that angered people. King Charles was one of the most hated Kings in Mritish history.
