Sam Kovics (1941-1984) ran a porno empire that delved in films and photography. He was under investigation by Metro-Dade authorities and the FBI for child porn and possibly murder. In 1984, an actress working on one of his films, Penny McGraw (a 16 year old runaway from Kansas who answered a modeling ad) was killed shortly after being arrested in a sting operation by Miami Vice, with all signs pointing to Kovics. The FBI previously infiltrated the Kovics organization in 1983 with an agent, Arthur Lawson, who took the cover name Artie Rollins, and became Kovics' right hand man, with first-hand knowledge of his dealings, keeping records all the way.
