Lyric and songwriter Willem Wilmink (1936-2003) composed music for theatre, television, radio and educational programs. From the beginning he was also one of the head lyric writers for many Dutch Sesamstraat songs. Most of them were set to music by Harry Bannink. Together with Hans Dorrestijn, Karel Eykman, Ries Moonen, Fetze Pijlman and Jan Riem, Wilmink started a writers group in 1970 that produced many songs and lyrics for Sesamstraat and other famous Dutch children's programs. He was also famous for his poetry.
