The Vakal Conquest is an ongoing conflict in the Pegasus Galaxy fought between the combined forces of the Pegasus Coalition, primarily the Atlantis Expedition and the Genii Confederation, the Travelers and the Wraith, against the invading hordes of the Vakal. First contact with the Vakal occured in September, 2008 when they kidnapped Drs. Daniel Jackson and Rodney McKay in an attempt to utilise the Lantean Attero device to destroy the Wraith. This attempt failed and the Vakal disappeared for over a year until they launched simultaneous strikes against a Wraith shipyard and Atlantis; marking the official start of the galaxy-wide conflict.
