Since the Jun 2009 Revision, the Ezo Soviet Socialist Republic is an autonomous (on the paper at least) political entity occupying the japanese island of Hokkaidō, with its' capital at Sapporo and uncertain territorial status concerning other parts of the archipelago, such as the Union-occupied Sakhalin. The SSR was established following the Union's invasion of Yamato at the end of World War Zero and is closely aligned with the Union (to the point where the de facto autonomy of the nation from faraway Moscow or maybe the closer Beijing cannot be fully confirmed).
