R5-M65 was in service during the battle of Naboo, repaired the N-1 Fighters in the hangar. He was able to ride in the back of Naboo pilot Dera Frezflit's fighter despite being an R5. R5-M65 saved Dera's life when he locked all weapons on an attacking salvo off Vulture droids. R5-M65 was destroyed while "playing" with 2 mouse droids, a result of unfrequent memory wipes, when he fell off the Naboo hangar. Dera found his memory and processed it on to a droid called R3-S2.
