Buddha achieved enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree. In Hinduism, Buddha is one of the ten incarnations of God (called Dasavatars) so there are those who say Lord Buddha is one of the names and forms of the Divine. In Buddhism, Buddha is celebrated as the Enlightened one, who taught the path and who has gone before. Ceremony and worship of idols of the Buddha are common, but many Buddhists would not say they are worshipping a God.
