Glave parasites are organisms native to a "dead" world found within the Dinares sector. Some of these creatures infested a large clutch of mantis screamer eggs, consuming the embryos' stingers and taking their place, modifying the screamer's tail accordingly. When the mantis screamers were assimilated by the Zerg Swarm, the glave parasites were altered as well, and became the firing mechanism for glaive wurms.
