The 1996 Winston Open was a Winston Cup (now Nextel Cup) All-Star qualifier held at Lowe's Motor Speedway on May 20, 1996. Jimmy Spencer won his only All-Star race, holding off Lake Speed by three carlengths. The top-five transferred to the Winston: Spencer, Speed, Hut Stricklin, Jeff Burton, and Michael Waltrip.
