Grant Arnow and Sergio Ruelas former members of the in a band Island Def Jam band Takota formed Beta Wolf in 2010. In 2011, Beta Wolf played at the SXSW Music Festival. . That same year, Beta Wolf played at Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka, Japan. On October 19, 2011 Beta Wolf released their debut album Dark Days in Japan on JVC/Victor Records.
