The Emperor's purges were a series of purges carried out by Emperor Palpatine, in the first two years of the Galactic Empire's rule. These purges targeted most of Palpatine's most outspoken political, military, or intellectual opponents. The Emperor targeted people who he had not been able to convert to his side. The two main Purges were the Great Jedi Purge and the Federation Purge.
