Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca was the Camerlengo of Vatican City and the hidden main antagonist of Dan Brown's 2000 novel Angels and Demons. He was a Camerlengo who planned to alert the world to the Church and brainwash everybody into following the Church again because he thought everyone had become too devoted to science. He kidnapped and killed four cardinals from the Vatican in order to make his point. In the 2009 film of the same name, the character's name is changed to Patrick McKenna.
