Brandon Law, a 17-year-old student and young scientist from Wayzata High School, is an Asian-American young scientist investigating glioma brain tumor metabolism and cancer immunotherapy. Law was a national finalist at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, the largest pre-college scientific research event in the world. Each May, over 1500 students from 52 nations are flown in to compete in the fair for scholarships, tuition grants, internships, and scientific field trips. At the international level, he placed third in his category for his study in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He has a patent pending for a cytotoxic drug screening device. He is also one of number of Young Epidemiology Scholars and Minnesota Scholars of Distinction in Science.
