On 2 June 1940, Nawab Ali Tariq was born in the village of Beka, a town and Union Council of Swabi District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan.[citation needed] He is the eldest son of the late Mohabat Khan, a prosperous landlord who wanted his son to get an excellent education.[citation needed] He started his education at the Government High School Tordhera Swabi District.[citation needed] He graduated with a Master degree in English literature from the University of Peshawar.[citation needed] He gained an Engineering Diploma[citation needed] and then went to Europe, China and England for specialist training.[citation needed]
