In the anime and manga, the controller of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" can pay all but 1 of their Life Points to increase its ATK and DEF by the same amount of Life Points paid. The player can also choose to Tribute all other monsters they control to transfer their total combined ATK and DEF to Ra's ATK and DEF respectively. In the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and manga, "The Winged Dragon of Ra" can only use this effect if it was Special Summoned from the Graveyard. In Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Franz was able to activate this effect of a Tribute Summoned "The Winged Dragon of Ra".
